MHP Incident Command Update

General Update: Indiana’s Covid positivity rate has increased to 30.4% and Shelby County is sitting at 29.7%.

Inpatient unit: Thirty-seven of our 40 beds are full on our 3rd-floor inpatient unit.

  • We currently have 10 critical care patients on the 3rd floor, and 8 (80%) of those patients are due to Covid. Of the 8 Covid-related critical care patients, two are vaccinated.
  • We have three patients on ventilators and all of those patients are Covid positive, and none of those patients are vaccinated. We have four additional patients who are on Vapotherm or BiPap, and three of those patients are Covid positive and none of those patients are vaccinated.
  • Twenty-four (65%) of our inpatients are Covid positive, and seventeen (71%) of them are unvaccinated.

Urgent Care and walk-in volumes:

  • Priority Care and MHP Family & Internal Medicine each had 30 registered patients before 11:00 A.M. today. MHP Pediatrics is very busy today. The vast majority of pediatric patients are presenting with body aches, headaches, congestion and respiratory symptoms.

Emergency Department: The Emergency Department saw 72 patients Sunday. We are continuing to infuse many Covid positive patients when the drugs are available.
