VA-Approved Urgent Care
WILL THE VA PAY FOR URGENT CARE?
Are you a veteran of the United States? If so, you now have more healthcare options than ever before. On June 6, 2019, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) MISSION Act was implemented to provide veterans with additional healthcare choices and expanded access to the medical services they’ve earned through their dedicated service to our nation. As a result, eligible veterans can receive urgent care services from select civilian providers without the need to obtain a referral or prior authorization. This urgent care benefit is offered to veterans in addition to the urgent care and same-day services available through VA medical facilities.
To be eligible for the VA urgent care benefit, you must meet two requirements: First, you must be enrolled in the VA health care system, and second, you must have received care through the VA, from either a VA or a community provider, within the last 24 months.
YOUR VA-APPROVED URGENT CARE PROVIDER THROUGH MHP PRIORITY CARE:
MHP Priority Care is proud to be an authorized urgent care provider in the VA network. If you’d like to take advantage of your VA urgent care benefit with us, here’s what to do:
Visit MHP Priority Care, located at 30 W. Rampart Rd., Suite 250, Shelbyville, IN 46176. You don’t need to make an appointment; simply stop by at your convenience.
- Let us know that you’re a U.S. veteran and you would like to use your VA urgent care benefit. We’ll confirm your eligibility and take care of the paperwork.
- Receive the urgent care you need. The MISSION Act covers urgent care for most non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries.
- Leave it to us to bill the VA for any covered services we provide to you.
Although your VA urgent care benefit is convenient and comprehensive, please keep in mind that it does not include preventive health care, nor does it cover the management of chronic or complex medical conditions. To receive either of those types of care, you will still need to work with your primary care provider.
MHP Priority Care sincerely thanks you for your dedicated service to our country. And now, our experienced team of medical professionals looks forward to serving you.
