Athletic Training Services:
Our Board Certified Sports Medicine physicians, Dr. Joel Jaeger and Dr.
Lance Johnson work with the local Certified Athletic Trainers in Shelby
County to prevent further damage from high impact sports. Athletes with
potentially weak ankles or knees may need to have their joints taped to
prevent hyperextension or strain. Athletes who have been injured may require
treatments such as assisted stretching, weight training, massage, or immersive
ice baths. The goal is to minimize the likelihood of injuries through
preventive practices and treat injuries without the use of surgery whenever
possible. The partnership between SportWorks and the Shelby County High
schools, provide student-athletes with quality medical/injury care.
Our sports medicine doctors are the team physicians for Shelby County high
schools. Our outstanding medical team has the experience to help student-athletes
know the best way to prevent injury and perform at the highest level.
