Shelbyville, IN – January 5, 2026 – Major Health Partners (MHP) is proud to offer advanced robot-assisted surgeries that help patients recover faster, experience less pain, and get back to their normal routines sooner. Robot-assisted surgeries allow our surgeons to perform many types of surgeries with greater accuracy and control than ever before.

MHP currently uses three state-of-the-art robots to assist in several types of surgeries and plans to add a fourth in the future.

Intuitive Ion Robotic Bronchoscopy
The Ion robot was MHP’s first surgical robot and debuted in August 2023. It helps the MHP Pulmonology team detect and treat lung issues at an early stage. Since its introduction, our pulmonologists have performed more than 150 minimally invasive bronchoscopies using the Ion system, helping find lung cancer sooner and improve patient outcomes.

Intuitive da Vinci 5
The da Vinci 5 robot—named “Fixy” by Ms. Volk’s class at St. Joseph Catholic School through our Name the Robot competition—is used by MHP Primary & Specialty Care: General Surgery and MHP OB/GYN. “Fixy” joined our team in January 2025 for general surgeries, and by May 2025, we expanded its use to women’s health procedures. Since then, our surgeons have performed more than 188 general surgeries and 40 gynecologic surgeries using this advanced system.

Medtronic Navigation System
While technically not a robot, this advanced navigation system helps MHP Spine surgeons operate with amazing precision. It provides real-time guidance during surgery, improving both safety and accuracy.

Orthopedic Robot Coming Soon
MHP plans to add a fourth robot to assist orthopedic surgeons with joint replacement procedures in the future. This robot will use advanced technology to help surgeons plan each procedure with incredible accuracy and ensure the best possible fit and alignment during surgery.

MHP is excited to keep growing its robotic surgery program to bring the latest technology and the best care to our patients. Because of the growing demand and success of our robotic surgeries, MHP added an additional operating room designed just for robotic

procedures in 2025. We have also expanded our surgical team so we can care for more patients.
