Shelbyville, IN - January 19, 2026 - Major Health Partners has completed its Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA)! We would like to thank everyone who took the time to participate in the survey. Every response was carefully considered with the goal of providing the best possible care for our community.

The CHNA is designed to provide insight into the health and well-being of individuals who life, work, play, and gather in Shelby County. Its primary purpose is to tell the story of our community’s health needs while identifying key areas where MHP and the community can collectively develop a Comprehensive Health Improvement Plan (CHIP) to best serve our people. To find the full 2025 report, visit https://www.mymhp.org/patients-guests/community-health-needs-assessment/.

The data included in this report covers the following areas:

  • Shelby County demographics
  • Community health data
  • Length of life
  • Quality of life
  • Health behaviors
  • Social drivers of health
  • Economic stability
  • Neighborhoods, built environments, and community context

Overall, since the last report in 2022, Shelby County is experiencing low unemployment, continued business and housing development, and a strong sense of community pride. Many residents report that they are doing better. However, the assessment also identified areas that require additional support.

Using this data, MHP plans to work alongside community partners to ensure access to the best resources and support while developing and implementing the CHIP. More information will be shared soon. This is a steppingstone for our upcoming plan, and we are eager to make an impact on the people of Shelby County.

If you have any questions about the CHNA or the information gathered, please contact MHP’s Community Liaison, Denise Holland, at dholland@majorhospital.org
