August 3, 2026 - Shelbyville, IN - At Major Health Partners, we're proud of the difference our MHP Nephrology & Infectious Disease team makes every day.

To better support patients living with chronic kidney disease, our nephrology team created a nurse-led quality improvement program called Kidney Care Options (KCO). The program provides patients with education early in their care journey and uses a more proactive, patient-centered approach to treatment. KCO brings together nephrologists, nurses, care coordinators, dialysis providers, transplant centers, and community resources to help patients make informed decisions about their kidney care.

The results have been meaningful. Between 2023 and 2025, 80% to 92% of patients received Kidney Care Options education before starting kidney replacement therapy, helping them better understand their treatment options and prepare for the future.
