October 14, 2026 - Shelbyville, IN - Major Health Partners recently received a 2026 AIM Hospital Award from the Indiana Department of Health for our outstanding commitment to maternal care. The Alliance for Innovation of Maternal Health (AIM) is a national program that helps hospitals improve maternity care by following safety practices.
As part of this initiative, MHP Maternity Care received $10,000 to continue our efforts to ensure safe practices with maternal care. This funding will be used in the following ways:
Severe Hypertension in Pregnancy Bundle: Improve care for pregnant patients with severe high blood pressure by providing reliable blood pressure monitoring kits to those who need them.
Care for Pregnant and Postpartum Patients with Substance Use Disorder Bundle: Improve care for pregnant patients and new mothers with substance use disorders by providing support and family-centered care for both mothers and babies.
Access to Donor Breast Milk: Provide access to safe, pasteurized donor breast milk when medically needed, helping families meet their breastfeeding goals while ensuring newborns receive proper nutrition.
The purpose of the AIM Award is to celebrate hospitals that have gone above and beyond in AIM-related initiatives. This year, the Indiana Department of Health and the Indiana Hospital Association recognized hospitals that have demonstrated exceptional dedication and were evaluated on the following criteria:
Active participation in the Institute for Healthcare Improvement’s Leading Quality Improvement (LQI) course.
Regular attendance at Indiana AIM team meetings and online training sessions.
A history of submitting complete and accurate data on time.
Continued use of proven practices to improve patient care.
Meaningful improvements in how care is organized and provided.
AIM participation helps ensure MHP Maternity Care continues to improve patient outcomes, reduce preventable complications, and standardize high-quality care. We are proud to prioritize the maternal health needs in our community while continuing to build a program revolving around safe practices.
