UPDATES FROM INCIDENT COMMAND:

  • Overall update: Happy New Year! Unfortunately, we are still experiencing an inpatient and emergency room Covid outbreak at this time. Both service lines are very busy. Our next public update will be on Monday, January 4th.
  • MHP Vaccines: Nearly 130 MHP employees have received the first dose of their Covid vaccine at the Hancock County site. Several other employees have received their vaccine, but it was in their county of residence instead of the Hancock County designated location, so we don’t have a complete total at this time. We believe at least 80% of our staff will be vaccinated.
  • Bamlanivimab “Bam” monoclonal drug for Covid treatment. By the end of the day, we will have infused 237 patients with this Eli Lilly monoclonal drug. Patients are tolerating this drug very well and it is decreasing our hospitalization rates, which is very important while we are at capacity. We have a sufficient supply of both Regeneron and Bamlanivimab for our current needs. We have 200+ vials remaining.
  • Priority Care and Family & Internal Medicine Walk-ins: Outpatient visits at both locations are steady and stable at this time.

MHP TESTING STATUS:

  • Number of NEW positive results: 65 new positive cases since 12/28/2020
    • Out of the 65 new positive cases, 8 patients required inpatient care and 57 remained outpatient. Testing supplies are good at this time and our validation for in-house testing is ongoing. The Covid test send-out turnaround times are good currently as well; 2-3 days.

MHP INPATIENT STATUS:

  • Current number of 3rd floor inpatients: 40 and 8 of those patients are in the Critical Care Unit (CCU).
    • Number of available 3rd floor beds: 0
  • Currently, we have 19 inpatients that tested positive for COVID.

MHP EMERGENCY DEPT STATUS:

  • Number of total ER patients in last 24 hours: 56 patients and 18 of those visits resulted in hospital admissions.

VENT STATUS:

  • Number of vents currently in use and number of vents available:
    • We have 3 ventilator(s) in use and 2 BiPAPs in use, 1 trilogy unit is in use. This leaves us with 14 ventilation units available.
