Now is time to take action!
Thanks to a special grant from the MHP Foundation, the MHP Cardiometabolic & Liver Health Center and MHP Lifestyle Medicine are offering a FREE, comprehensive health screening program (valued at over $1,000) to 30 youth ages 11–17.
This program helps catch early signs of health problems and teaches teens how to live healthier lives—using Life's Essential 8 Pillars of Heath:
- Nutrition/Diet
- Physical activity
- Restorative sleep
- Weight control
- Avoiding risky substances
- Blood pressure
- Blood lipids
- Blood glucose
What’s Included in the Free Screening?
The labs, valued at over $1,000 are completely free for the first 30 participants and check for early signs of:
- Fatty liver disease
- High cholesterol
- Obesity
- Heart problems
- Diabetes risk
What the screening includes:
- Health history and physical exam
- Lab tests (blood work): including CBC, CMP, hSCRP, fasting lipids, HgbA1c, Lp(a), APO-B, and fasting insulin
- Biometric data: including height, weight, BMI, waist circumference, blood pressure, and body composition (% fat mass, % lean tissue)
What Happens at the Appointments?
- Visit 1: Meet your provider, share your health history, get your physical exam, and get your lab order.
- Visit 2: Go over your lab results, talk about your health risks, and get a personalized health plan.
If ongoing treatment is recommended, patients will have the option of following up with their primary care provider or continuing to work with us for extra support.
Who Qualifies for this program?
- Youth ages 11–17
- Especially encouraged for teens with a family history of heart disease, diabetes, or concerns about weight.
